Marjorie (Margie) Milas, wife and muse of our founding Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Lawrence W. Milas, said to her husband “Why don’t you build your own damn college?” and was thus the inspirational force behind the establishment of this College.
In addition to a special fondness for children, Margie had a passion for dance, theater and golf. She was highly principled and outspoken about any injustices and incivilities she perceived, yet she also had an unlimited capacity to forgive.
Together, Margie & Larry established the James O. Wynn Library Fund, the first gift to the Olin College Library.
Margie’s Memorial Library Fund, seeded by her friends and family, will reflect her many passions with the addition of fine arts, social sciences and pedagogy materials.
